TENNIS CLASSES |

| Tennis Instruction is currently offered at Laguna Hills High School, Trabuco Hills High School and Mission Viejo High Schools. The Elementary level of instruction for 5-12 year olds, has 3 levels of play. Level 1 - an introductory level, Level 2 - a continuation of skills with an introduction into simple drills and Level 3 - a continuation of skills with an introduction of volleys and overheads. The Advanced Elementary level of instruction for 5-8 year olds, continues from the previous levels and adds Level 1 - more emphasis on stroke production, Level 2 - for the student with consistent ball control and court sense and Level 3 - for the student with all the basics and can place shots. The students then move on to the Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced levels of instruction for 8-12 year olds with all skills enhanced and refined.The children of youth classes can then take advantage of the Tennis Drill and Instruction class. This class is designed for junior singles players ages 10-17 years. Matches are played and are supervised by a tennis coach who offers post-match coaching. For ages 13 through adult, a Tournament Preparation is now offered. This class is designed for players who wish to concentrate on doubles strategies and formation. It focuses on preparation for such local tournaments as the Orange County Grand Prix and the South Bay Grand Prix. Classes are 4 weeks in length and are offered at MVHS, THHS, and ETHS. For 13 years through adult, the Department offers Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced classes. Download our tennis schedule (PDF) |
